We once got pulled over while me and my wife were fighting. the cop came over and saw my wife crying. I dont remember if he even said anything before letting us go. lol.
This one time, I got pulled over in the process of taking one of my mom’s cats to the vet.
Jasper was a sweet cat and really pretty with enormous blue eyes. But while he was fine at home and fine at the vet, he hated the car. All he had to do was see the car and he would erupt like a geyser, sometimes from both ends. Normally, though — and on this particular ride — there was a ton of puke, a LOT of drool, and that infamous Siamese yowl turned up to eleven. And that happened for the entire 30-minute car ride to the vet’s, and the entire ride home.
Needless to say, it was not fun. So to make it end quicker, I was speeding, and I got pulled over.
The officer walked up to my car and asked for my paperwork, and as I usually do when pulled over, I was nervous and stammering. After a moment, the cat yowled, and the officer looked in the backseat.
I can only describe what she must have seen as two huge terrified eyes staring out at her from the dark depths of a pet carrier, making an unholy noise from the pit of hell which could not be identifiable as any normal animal’s, its gaping maw frothing with drool and vomit.
"Oh, my God, what’s wrong with your cat?" she asked in this shocked voice.
Now, I had two choices. I could be honest, and tell her that Jasper just got terribly carsick and he would be perfectly fine when I got him to the vet, where he was only having a check-up and a shot. Or I could lie.
So I looked her straight in the eye and said, “I don’t know what’s wrong, this is my mom’s cat, I came home from work and he looked like that, I think he ate something bad and he’s dying!”
She waved me on without another word.
